From a young age I have danced all types of styles from Ballet, to tap, to street dance.
Since moving to Edinburgh, I have tried to carry on with dance lessons, and also attempting to do the same here. For a few weeks now I have been going to MAD DANCE HOUSE in Brisbane, where they do all sorts of dance styles. Every week I go to the hip-hop class. We do a new routine each week and the class is full – nearly 70 people.
At the end of class we get into groups and perform the routine to each other. This is one of my favourite parts to the class because you can see the passion and effort people put into their dancing. When I watch them, I can know what they are feeling at that moment. A love for dancing.
It’s nice to see people doing what they love to do; for exercise, for fun, to try out a new style, to start dancing, or get practice. She is a great teacher, and every time I do the class I feel amazing coming out of it.
It is a great way to get away from work, use any stress to be released through the dancing and come home feeling fresh. Think I will try out some other classes in the next few weeks. I would definitely recommend MAD DANCE HOUSE.
Before the first week of May, there was a great programme at the south bank parklands. Seven free classes a week, in the morning and evening. Since February I tried pilates which I have never done before and was quite good. ‘Energy’ was great, and I used lots and lots of it! Definitely finished with sore ‘jelly’ legs at the end of the 45 minutes. Finally, Zumba was my favourite, because I love dancing. It is super energetic and lots of fun. I would also recommend to try a class of Zumba, even if you have never danced before!
